House Filter System flush

House Filter System flush is a handy tip if you have whole of house system and you are going away for a certain amount of time.

Cleans your pipes out for your whole of house system.

A build-up of Biofilm is possible on a Whole of House Filter System that removes Chlorine.
There are a couple of ways to get around the problem by  House Filter System flush :-
1. Replace the Carbon filter with a Pleated Sediment filter (5-10 micron), on a regular basis, say every
2 or 3 months and let the water run with Chlorine in the pipes. Also turn on all taps in the house so
the Chlorine water reaches all outlets . After 10-15 minutes, swap the Carbon filter back into its
usual position. (After turning all taps off, too)

2. If home owner is going on holidays for multiple weeks or soon after return from a prolonged
absence, bypass the Whole of house filter system, so Chlorine water flows freely. Turn on furthest
tap in house and leave on for 10-15 minutes so Chlorine circulates everywhere in the piping and
pipes are flushed. Then re-connect Whole of House system.

With any filter and water system- if you are going to be away from your house for over 4-6 weeks at one time, you can put them in the freezer to prolong the life of the filter.

Just make sure you let the filters thaw/defrost before you put them back into the system.
