- 5 micron Poly Sediment filter- Sediment filters are an effective, dependable, low cost solution to removing suspended matter such as silt, rust, sand, algae, sediment, scale particles, dirt and cloudiness from water. Great for bore water and rain water and are also pre-filtration in standard water filters and reverse osmosis purification systems. Filter should last 6-12 months, maybe more, depending on water quality.
- 5 micron GAC Carbon Filter- Suitable for chlorinated mains water / town water supplies only.
The GAC Cartridge (Granular Activated Carbon) is simply carbon in the form of granules. This increases the surface area available for absorption of the unwanted chemicals within your water supply (Chlorine, taste and odour reduction). Generally replace between 6-12 months – depending on quality of water.
The micron rating of a filter cartridge determines the ability of the filter’s media to remove contaminants by the size of particles it is exposed to. For example, a filter that is marked or rated “5 micron” has some capability to capture particles as small as 5 micrometers. However, the micron rating does not determine the exact efficiency of contaminant holding capability of the filter.
